“There's an old-world charm to this place that I appreciate, blended with modern facilities - though perhaps some of the furnishings are a touch antiquated. Its location near Circular Quay makes getting around incredibly easy, and the proximity to the Opera House is a real advantage. I particularly like that the hotel features a significant collection of fine art.”

A Balanced Experience

The room had a spacious layout. Breakfast included a good variety of items. The location allows easy access to main attractions.
The walls seemed thin. I could hear talking from the neighboring room. The pillows felt flat and uncomfortable.

Vintage Charm and Great Location

great locationspacious roomworn carpet
The location was amazing. I walked to the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens easily. Two hop-on-hop-off bus stops were very close. The hotel retained its old character. I also received a room upgrade which was nice. The room was spacious and well-appointed. Beds and pillows were really comfortable!!!
The room carpet needed replacement. It looked worn. The bathroom, though, was gorgeous.
Service
9/10
Staff are friendly and helpful. Polite reception is available. Excellent service supplemented a short walk to wider range places overlooking the Harbour. Dining was really great.
Rooms
8/10
The hotel features lounges in the lobby and bedroom. The rooms are huge. The bathroom has complimentary toiletries. I had a closet style wardrobe which housed the very noisy air con unit. Complimentary robes and slippers are available.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel has a fireplace in the lobby, with chandeliers everywhere. Parking is included in the package. The gym is okay, though almost all the cardio equipment is broken. Saunas are out of order.
